New Yorker Humor

The cartoon above I thought was funny funny. A classical twist on the mob, being criminals, killers, and still trying to live a normal day in normal society. But this also shows how stupid they were to believe that nobody knew what was going on. The hilarity of this comic comes from the mechanic so nonchalantly telling him what's wrong with his car and also mentioning there is a body in the back. It seems so extreme of a concept that normal people accepted these actions. Although the mafia thought they were sneaky, and master criminals, everyone knew what was going on and just let it happen out of fear of the consequences and this is shown in such a funny way through a simple comic.

The cartoon above is weird funny. I think it really speaks to the people of corporate society and how they are so worn down and molded to be something that fits a role, and that when they try to be themselves and be individualistic, they are perceived as people who don't fit in. Who's to say that corporate employees can't rock out? Not me, but it is funny as hell to see a group of people in work clothes about to jam out. You know they are getting wild because the lead singer has his jacket off! The way they speak, it's almost as if they don't know how to be themselves and they are trying to enjoy their own hobbies but are already worn down by the corporate lifestyle that they've lost all their edge and fire, and are now just a bland band.

This cartoon is not funny. It's quite sad in my opinion. We live in an era of social media where everyone's lives are posted online and shared with everyone. Naturally this leads to a lot of people feeling left out because they aren't invited and leaves a bad case of FOMO. It is supposed to be their special day, they feel the need to apologize for not being able to invite everyone. People nowadays will dwell on the fact that they were not invited to a wedding for example, rather than just be happy for those who got married.
